Amazon Small and Light is the program designed for sellers who have small, lightweight, and low-cost products in their catalog.

Using Amazon logistics involves several advantages but, despite this, it can represent too high a cost for those selling small items of low value.

To overcome this problem, as well as to capture another important market segment, Amazon developed the Small&Light program.

The service quality is the same as Amazon Prime, with free shipping for subscribed customers and delivery times that are hard to match. The fulfillment fees, however, are significantly lower. Furthermore, using Amazon logistics brings several benefits in terms of product ranking among search results.

Enrolling in Small & Light is simple and requires a few requirements listed below.

What are the requirements to enroll in Small and Light

Sellers using Amazon FBA can enroll their products in the Small and Light program if the items meet all the following conditions:

• They are in new condition;

• They do not measure more than 33 x 23 x 5 cm;

• They do not weigh more than 225 g;

• They have a stock of at least 24 units;

• They have sold at least 10 units in the last 4 weeks;

• They do not have a retail price higher than € 9.99 (VAT included).

Note: Regarding product dimensions, items cannot exceed the specified centimeters for any of the 3 dimensions.

Among the ineligibility requirements, we can list:

• Restricted products;

• Products prohibited by Amazon Logistics;

• Adult items;

• Dangerous goods;

• Temperature-sensitive FBA inventory;

• Temperature-sensitive products (e.g., chocolate), between May 1st and October 14th;

Question: Is it possible to enroll a product newly uploaded to Amazon in Small and Light?

For new ASINs, i.e., recently uploaded to Amazon, enrollment in the program remains possible. These items benefit from a 90-day trial period within Small and Light. If the sales velocity is high enough, the items will be automatically enrolled.

Enrolling in the program is very simple. After indicating the packaging dimensions in your product sheet, simply convert your SKU to "Fulfilled by Amazon". If the product meets all requirements, it will be possible to enroll in the program by selecting it from the proposed options.

Many clients often ask us: can I enroll items I have already sent to Amazon logistics in Small&Light?

The answer in this case is, unfortunately, negative. Amazon manages program items differently than traditional logistics items. Therefore, it will be necessary to create a new SKU, enroll it, and send at least 24 units to logistics.

Can I lose my enrollment in the program?

It is possible to lose the benefits of Small & Light enrollment. For example, if you increase the price to over €10 or do not send a sufficient number of units, Amazon will immediately terminate the enrollment and apply standard fulfillment fees.

Absolutely not! On the contrary, you will continue to enjoy all the privileges of Amazon Prime. On the product page, there will be no reference to the program, and users cannot know if you are enrolled. But even if it were possible, it would likely have no negative implications.
